This Machik Labdron Empowerment has been very precious to Khandro-la, personally and to our Dakini’s Whisper community. Machik founded a unique tradition called CHO that has had a great impact on us on multiple levels.  Machik is our source of inspiration and deep devotion on our spiritual journey.

Machik Labdron empowerment is one of the gifts Khandro-la received from her teacher, the 9th Khalkha Jetsun Dampa, during her 1st Seven-Night Wilderness Cho Retreat. This is part of the collected workss by Bodong Chole Namgyel, 15th century Tibetan Great Genius, and highly accomplished master, and synthesizer of Dharma. He was the Tibetan equivalent of Thomas Aquinas or Leonardo De Vince in Europe.

In this empowerment ritual, Machik displays her wrathful aspect, holding the thighbone trumpet in her left hand, and the damaru in her right hand, dripping blood from the freshly severed human head garland, dancing on the corpse. Her wrathful form of expressing fierce compassion is something we need to develop within us at this challenging time. Her sadhana based on this empowerment is a beautiful, short practice and I’d like to share commentary following it as a 2-part series in March.

  • Sunday, March 10, 1-2:30 pm, PST
